Every single expectation I had about my trip to Sagada was surpassed by every single activity we did and the memories we made. Spending our days hiking, exploring different caverns, checking things of our bucket lists and being surround by the beauty of mother nature was truly a great way to escape reality. I now understand why everyone I know who has been to Sagada has fallen madly in love with the beautiful town. Here are a few of my personal tips for those who are planning to go and experience Saga for themselves:
Tip #1: It’s a long drive! Make sure you dress appropriately and pack yourselves some food and water, and things to keep you entertained in the car.
Tip #2: Try booking with Andrew Chinalpan (Epic Adventure Travel). We had the cutest cottage and the easiest time exploring Sagada.
Tip #3: Sagada Cellar Door is a must if you want an intimate and peaceful night (or sunrise) with your friends. Visits are pre-arranged.
Tip #4: The Cave Connection is a 3-hour hike from Lumiang cave to Sumaging cave. Wear the right clothes and bring BOTH your sneaks and slippers. They tell you slippers are good enough for the hike; they aren’t. One of my fellow explorers wore her sneaks most of the time and brought her slippers in her little backpack and we all decided she was the smartest one of all.
Tip #5: The Bontoc Museum is the best place to learn about the history and culture of Mountain Province. If you have the time, try your best to check it out!
Tip #6: Paragliding with Armand Dard was the most exhilarating experience. There are things in life you just have to do and this is definitely one of them.
Tip #7: Inexpensive and delicious, Log Cabin is only open for dinner so make sure you make reservations during the day.
Tip #8: Yoghurt House is for breakfast. To. Die. For.
Tip #9: Keep yourselves hydrated at all times.
Tip #10: Forget about and leave your comfort zone. Push yourself to try as many new things as possible.
